Other Services

Tui Na

Loosely translated to "push grasp". It is a massage technique that moves Qi in various parts of the body. It is used to relieve muscle pain, tension and inflammation and to heal injuries.

Gua Sha

This technique is used to release muscle tension, tightness and constriction. A specialized tool is used to gently scrape or rub the skin over a problem area. Gua Sha feels a bit like deep massage. This too many leave some slight redness that will quickly dissipate.

Cupping Therapy

This therapy is designed to stimulate the flow of blood and Qi within the superficial muscle layers. It is used for sore muscles, tension, neck pain and the common cold. In this therapy, a small glass or plastic "cup" is placed over the treated area of your body. A vacuum is created under the cup using heat or suction. They may be moved over an affected area or left in place.

Moxibustion

This effective treatment uses an herb called mugwort which is burned at the tip of a needle located above the skin. This is used to "warm" the acupuncture points or areas in order to quicken the healing process.

Qi Gong (Chi Kung)

Qi Gong derives from the Chinese words "Qi" meaning "Energy" plus "Gong", meaning "work" or "practice". It is a term that describes a Chinese exercise that focuses on the cultivation and attraction of "Qi" or "lifeforce" energies. Pronounced likeĀ "Chee Gung", Qi Gong (sometimes spelled "Chi Kung") is a unique Chinese exercise system. Qi Gong draws on many elements as it regulates the body through posture, it also regulates the mind through relaxation and concentration of one's mental activity and it regulates the breathing which promotes self-massage and movement of the limbs. This form of treatment covers a wide range of exercises and styles.
